YOU?!? Diaglo?!?

Are you feeling OK? No fever? No frothing at the corners of the mouth?

The world must be ending soon if Diaglo is getting a d20 3.5 book....!!!!!

(Mark this day on the calendar!)

i'm a collector. i have all of the books. most of the newer ones though are collecting dust. whereas my OD&D booklets are getting used. :D

Diaglo likes the backward compatiblity of d20. He buys the d20 books and mines them for ideas so he can convert them all to OD&D game stats. Nothing like a blackguard with a -10 AC... ;)

WotC should have done what Monte Cook is doing with Arcana Evolved. He is upgrading the entire presentation, incorporating the setting book, and expanding with all new content. The book is going to be around 400pages, for $50. Thats a special edtion.

Wizards offers a special cover, with no new content. They just fixes the goofs in the orginal. This is worst than what the comic industry does when they put out the same comic with mutltiple covers. It's just a ploy to seperate people and there money. Though, at least with the comics, they usualy don't charge you more than twice the price for a special cover.

It hope its better the AU, that's been collecting dust for me. At least I can find people wanting to play 3.5/D&D stuff. :\

Sorry 'bout that, AU really does rock. I've had the pleasure of DMing an AU-rules campaign for a while now, and it's a lot of fun.

I think to make a true "special edition" would have required more than just errata fixes and a nice cover/endpapers.

It should have been expanded to include creatable magic items, some prestige classes, and a few extra spells. If they made it the same size as the World's Largest Dungeon - THAT would be a very special edition.

However, it is what it is, a commemorative special standard edition for collectors and nothing more. I don't have a problem with it as such as I am a collector, but I do wish it would have been more.

Nah, he buys 3.5 stuff and then talks about how much better the three little books are.

I disagree, I think that would be a very sleazy way to get non-collecters to buy the book, and if it were ~900 pages we could expect to pay several hundred dollars for it. The PHB is one of the core rulebooks, which the entire d20 license rests upon, so making special limited edition rules is not feasible anyway.
