Specialist Wizard

A specialist wizard (using the SRD's version of a specialist) "can prepare one additional spell of her specialty school per spell level each day."
If the specialist wizard were to take the epic feat "improved spell capacity" and thus gain access to a 10th level spell, would he then get a bonus specialist 10th level spell, too?

I do not think it is something that the designers had in mind for that feat, but I do not see any reason that Epic spell levels would be excluded from the specialist wizard rules.

Yeah, but if this is true specialist wizards really come into their own at epic levels!

Of course they do. There is no doubt about this. This is part and parcel of being a specialist. And no, it isn't really adding all that much more, as there are no higher level spells: these slots can only be used for metamagicked spells. So the specialist gains two slots, but only one of them can be used for any spell except those banned schools, and one must be filled with a spell from their speciality. Of course the desighers were aware of this ability when they considered this feat: Specialists have two entire schools of magic banned from their repetoire entirely. Every level. Always.
