Specific magically affected spellbooks?

Hi, fairly new to D but I have a multiclassed spellcaster 4 sorcerer/1 wizard and I'm hoping to take ultimate magus at 7th or 8th whichever one is allowable. But, anyways being that I just became a wizard as well I need to start thinking about spellbook ideas. I have craft wondrous item as a feat and plan on making a baccobs blessed book of levitation but I would like to know more about magic qualitites assignable to spellbooks, spellbook specific qualities, or specific spellbooks so I dont spend weeks or months on crafting and inscribing and 10s of thousands of dollars and someone wink my spellbook out of existence especially because I also am thinking about making it my item familiar. Any thoughts,expertise, or advice on the subject would be much appreciated thank you.

Unless your DM is also inexperienced (or a total...well, not going to go there), he should allow you to create a spell-book of your own design. Also, the book Complete Arcane has some really great ideas on magic item design, and this happens to include spell-books. I would go with a spell-book that somehow helps your spell-casting.

Since youre playing a multiclassed spellcaster, I'm going to point out a problem/point you in the right direction.

You're going to notice that you have a massive number of low level spells, and that you no longer get high level spells.

If you dont WANT that, I'd suggest you pay the 4.95$ to download this.

It has all sorts of rules-fixes. I Don't agree with all of them, but I agree with most, and they fix the multiclass-spellcaster problem youll be running into.
