Specific Skills (Craft & Profession)

I am considering allowing skills to be added to have more specific knowledge to achieve better results for certain adventuring tasks. For example, captaining a ship (no matter the size; includes navigation, piloting, rigging, repairing, etc.). These specific skills could be taken no matter the class, and can be adjusted back & forth like other skills. Characters who may be train in the skill could swap it out and take it later to aid the story and party, especially with skill challenges. They would be treated the same as the other skills, adding a +5 to the check, but can encompass so much beyond the general list of skills given to choose from and allows specialists to take command instead of whoever has the highest level & stat bonus.
