They haven't done that since Monster Manual II, as far as I can tell. All the monsters from the race, environmental and other books have shown up nowhere else.

Well, new monsters presented in adventures tend to wind up in a MM, but that still leaves plenty of other sources to tap.

The monsters are, in fact, the last major chunk of Miniatures Handbook goodness not to be replicated anywhere else, along with one or two of the prestige classes (Bonded Summoner is pretty swell).

Yeah, I like the Tactical Soldier myself. And don't forget the Marshal class.

I was actually kind of hoping that the Rules Compendium would go ahead and compile all of the base classes, but it looks like they're going for a different approach.

If the compendium coming out later this year is really a collection of the various new rules, what are the chances they'll release it under the OGL (like Unearthed Arcana was) so that those rules can be opened for publishers? I'd like an opportunity to create material based on some of the closed rule systems.
