Hello there
My character in a friend's campaign has some downtime coming up, and the extra funds for spell research. My last aquired feat was "Craft Wand" and I'd like to get a little extra mileage out of it.
So, I was thinking of designing a spell to let my character activate a wand he'd created from a distance. Perhaps useful for setting off an ambush, or for causing mayhem if the party is captured. I'm not sure what level would be appropriate for such a spell, or what other considerations might apply.
So, the parameters I'd surely like to have would be:
Ranged Activation, though I haven't set my mind to precisely what range.
Verbal component only
Casting time of one action
Useful only with wands, and specifically only wands crafted by the spellcaster
Any thoughts on that? Would designing a higher level spell later that activated multiple wands be gamebreaking?
