Spell like abilities Q's

How do you determine what attribute they are based one? Do they follow the spell rule that you need the attribute of 10 + spell level to use?

Spell-like abilities are, by default, sorcerer-based, so you use the creature's Charisma modifier. The creature can use the abilities even if it has a Charisma of 1 (very low save DCs, of course). The pit fiend has a Charisma of 16 but can cast Symbol (an 8th-level spell).

Dragons cast spells as sorcerers, in addition to their spell-like abilities.

Eh, I was in the process of writing an answer, but Psi beat me to it. I agree completely. They use SLA as sorcerers and the DC is modified by Cha.

Maybe it was a test to make sure that the other people on these boards know their stuff. ;)

I was mistaken on the second question, so that's good.

I've got another one. Technically, can any creature with a natural (ei racial) spell like ability that qualifies for an extra feat (because of advancement or addition of class levels) pick up Quicken Spell-Like Ability, or only Dragons or others that specifically mention the feat?

I realize I could rule-0 this, but I wanted to know the official answer.
