Spell-like-ability: invisibilty self only?

Hello all,

I was wondering when reading the Ogre Mage entry: he has as SLA invisibilty. This spell has a range of personal and/or touch. Does that mean the ogre mage can also cast it on his buddies?

Thanks for your help!

Yes.

There are some SLAs (the teleportation ability of certain demons, for example) that specifically restrict their use to the caster. As the ogre mage entry does not do this, he can use it without such restriction.

Of course, it is not greater invisibility, so if any creatures he makes invisible should attack, they become visible. It would be virtually impossible for an ogre mage to keep a decent sized force invisible during combat, but he can make some very effective surprise attacks or move a group stealthily through observation.

I'm in agreement with Ahnehnois. The Ogre Mage's invisibility SLA works just like the spell. He can cast it on buddies.

SLA work just like the spell (in regards to range, duration, etc) unless the SLA description statesotherwise.

As an example look at classes like the warlock whose invocations are spell like abilities - some state differences between the spell and some do not.
