Spell to "Hide" your alignment...

Of course, then all you need is Nystul's Magic aura, which, by the way, lasts for one day per level! My bard used to cast an extended version on all his items about twice a month, just for the fun of it :)

... on one touched object.

You can't use Nystul's Magic Aura to conceal the aura of the Undetectable Alignment on you... unless you're an object.

Well, besides the fact that it's difficult to use unless you're small, given the 5lb/level restriction (which I hadn't noticed before).... hrm... you can't cast object targeting spells on creatures? Seems like creature should be a subset of object... is there a rule that definitively says one way or the other? I guess there are spells which specify object or creature as valid, which wouldn't be necessary if they assumed creatures were a subset of objects. However, I wonder if that wasn't just done for clarification.

Not that there are a lot of spells that only target objects and would be useful if cast on a person.

Well, there's the glossary entry for 'creature':

creature: A living or otherwise active being, not an object.

Hmm. Makes me wonder: Is the illusion magic of a Nystul's magic aura detectable through detect magic? Even if the object itself isn't, if you know what I mean.

Skip Williams also elaborates on the distinction between creatures and objeccts in the latest Rules of the Game: Reading Spell Descriptions (Part 5):

RotG said:
A creature is anything that has both a Wisdom and a Charisma score. A living creature also has a Constitution score.

An object is anything that lacks a Wisdom and a Charisma score, even if it is actually alive. (A rose bush, for example, is alive, but it's an object insofar as the D&D rules are concerned.)
