If you hit 18-20, you're ahead of the game. My Wizard started with a 17 Int. I haven't even noticed that I'm not at 20, and I'd be doing great if I was still at 17.</p><p></p><p>People love bonuses and rush for max, but you just don't need it. It's nice if you have that 20, but so are feats.</p><p></p><p>The vast majority of DCs in the game will be in the 10-15 range. Some will be 20. You don't need to be running around with +10s and +11s just to get by. With +4 proficiency and +3 from main stat, you have +7 which will plenty good for those DCs.
