Spellcraft Puzzle

When your familiar gets high enough int, you can have him aid you too. It says Some skills may be on a familairs ability, but I'd let a 12+ int toad help in spellcraft if he's spent all that team teetering around the wizard and basically connected to his brain.

I'm currently a ranger in The Red Hand of Doom adventure, but if that character dies, I'm considering playing a diplomat.

Half-elf bard 5
Cha 20 (cloak of charisma +2)
Diplomacy 8 ranks
+6 synergy from Bluff, Knowledge (nobility & royalty), Sense Motive
+2 racial
+2 Negotiator
+3 Skill Focus
+5 custom magic item of Diplomacy bonus (2500 gp)
+2 masterwork tool of diplomacy

5+8+6+2+2+3+5+2 = +33.

Oh, you're hostile? Give me a full round action and you'll be at least unfriendly, and probably indifferent, maybe even friendly.

64 skill points (8/level with 14 Int), -32 to max out Diplomacy, Bluff, Knowledge (nobility & royalty), and Sense Motive, leaves me with 32 languages.

Or maybe I'll take 24 languages and max out Disguise. Oh, okay, 16 languages and I'll actually have ranks in Perform (oratory).

I don't think you can have 24 languages at 8th:You can purchase Speak Language just like any other skill, but instead of buying a rank in it, you choose a new language that you can speak.

So since you never buy any ranks, you never exceed the maximum allowable rank in a skill, right?

I'm pretty sure there is a feat that requires 4 ranks in Speak Language and it lets you get a new one every leve thereafter

If there is, it was written either a/ by someone who didn't read the Speak Language skill description, or b/ for a d20 game other than D&D, that uses ranks in Speak Language.

"You can purchase Speak Language just like any other skill, but instead of buying a rank in it, you choose a new language that you can speak."

Nobody in D&D has 4 ranks in Speak Language; instead, they can speak four languages.
