Spelljamming Giff

While I like the Giff, and all things Spelljammer, I can't help but have one thought echoing through my head whenever I see a humanoid-ish Hippo:

"Did you get that thing I sent you?"

Oh, dear sweet God, Peter Potomus - I didn't think of the connection before (probably because I hardly ever think about giff, but still). I'll never be able to take humanoid hippopotomuses seriously again.

Am I the only one who thinks that the designer who said "I know, anthropomorphic hippos!" in the design meeting should have been taken out and soundly thrashed?

Or, at least, subjected to a Hippo Hurricane Holler . .

Ah Spelljammer ...
My first all halfling game. On a ship that looked like a swan.
There were definatly Dohwar, flying pigs, giant space hamsters, Former giant space hampsters (reincarnated). Many gnomes, with Black puddings in jars, electrified ballista chains and various modified guns.
I don't think I ever got to use Giff, but they would not have been out of place.
The game was played from 10pm-4am (usually) and involved virtually no use of actual rules.
