Spells for a 'Treasure Hunter'?

I am making a Treasure Hunter with a Indiana Jones type of appeal.

Going for Rog3 / Swa3 / Wiz 5/ AT7/ Rog2

at lvl 6
14 18 12 18 10 16

He will be TWF a whip and kukri.

What spells might be of great use to this type of char? I am adding some spells that i can apply my sneak attack also.

I am thinking
Invis
Detect Magic
Read Magic
Alterself
Charm Person ( to get by unharmed or better shop deals )

Utility spells that might mesh well with an adventurer like that:

Light
Detect Magic
Mage Hand

Detect Secret Doors
Animate Rope
Feather Fall

Invis
Knock
Spider Climb
 

Heh. Animate Rope certainly has an Indiana Jones-ish feel to it. Does it work on whips? :D

Don't forget Locate Object (and maybe Clairaudiance/Clairvoyance).

For the sneak attacks, you might want to check out Complete Adventurer, it has some nice spells for Rogue/Wizards.

Thanks for the replies. Since i am starting this char at lvl 5-7, what would you suggest his equipment be for that lvl? I dont know how to go about it since he is what he finds. Or maybe you can put a pricetag and i can go from there
 

Check out the rules for starting PCs above 1st level in the DMG, it also explains how to deal with treasure.

Temple Raider... from the Complete Divine might help you get the feeling. ... and the right spells.

Looking into the Complete Adventurer's spell lists: What about Grave Strike and Golem Strike as swift spells? You'll encounter enough undead and constructed guardians down there in the forgotten tombs... ;)
