Spells & SPELLCRAFT, Spells & MAGIC

Probably not even worth a new thread on, though; certainly, people vote with their wallet, and in just a year or two I'm sure the d20 industry will shake out to the point that the publishers with the best/most popular products remain. Count me in on the side of free market forces, I guess.

I think you are wrong. I would be totally unsurprised if only a small number of publishers disappeared. Most publishers who publish both d20 and non-d20 product testify that their d20 products sell better. That being the case, I think that even relatively fringe d20 publishers will make enough money to stay afloat, especially considering the "out of the garage" nature of many of these businesses.

So Kap or Will, did I miss anything in my little summary of S&S? Besides the glyph grenades, that is.

In general without having received my copy of S&S yet, I'm more inclined to go towards S&S over S&M just for the page count, I like more content over color pictures and The artwork from Traps and Treachery and Mythic Races is generally top notch IMO.

The design (art/layout, etc.) of the FFG books is great, though S&S is the first one I've bought (and the only one that I've wanted to buy so far). The price for quality/format and content/page count is both fair and competitive and the crunchy bits are top-notch (love to lob those glyph egg grenades---there is online errata for greater glyph eggs that were accidentally cut from S&S, BTW).

So, read both books at the store if you can, and compare which serves your specific (long and short term) campaign needs better. For me, it was S&S all the way. For you, it might be different.
