Spells that increase hardness/hit points in objects

So I guess my question is, have I overlooked it somewhere? And for that matter, what other spells are out there for increasing an object's hardness or hit points or both? I'm aware of hardening from one of the FR books, and there's another in Stronghold Builder's Guide, but other than that I can't seem to recall any others I may have seen. Anyone know any offhand?

Glassteel some play in this thread.

The level does seem a bit high though.

You could just have a shop that sells windows with hardened glass. I actually just did this in my Ptolus game, just kinda guessed them at 150gp per window iirc. Seemed reasonable.

One more option would be to introduce Masterwork glass (i.e. tempered glass or some other non-magically treated glass), using the normal Masterwork rules.

You could either simply rule that hardness and/or HP for masterwork glass are doubled, or you could actually set different DCs for creating it (i.e. DC 20 doubles, DC 25 triples, DC 30 quadruples--these are wild guess numbers, might need adjusting).

There are other options if all you want to do is create windows that discourage breakins, as well. For example, dual-pane or hollow windows where the inner space is filled with acid, contact poison, or alchemist's fire (or other alchemical substances)--naturally, substances that are themselves colorless work best with this, although stained glass could be used to great effect to conceal colored substances :] . There are spells that would work for this too; cast Fire Trap inside a double-paned window, etc.

IIRC, there is an FR book that has glassteel as a special armor/weapon material, I think as an elven secret. It has the stats of mithral & adamantine, & is muy expensive, so definitely overkill there.

Sounds like Laen from Rolemaster.
