Spells: The Essentials

disagree with this thread completely.

How about we brainstorm how to make marshall classes and arcane classes both fun and interesting without gimpin either?

I started to make my list, but I soon realized that 10-12 per level won't do it for me. Maybe it would be ok for clerics and druids, but definitely not for wizards... I want at the very least 2 spells per level for each school, and then some extra. Even the 3ed PHB didn't have enough (you couldn't even fulfill your requirement of learning 1 spell of your school per level as a specialist!).
 

I did a thread to try and find the most iconic D&D spells

The basic list, from that thread, is:

Fireball
Magic Missile


Sleep
Lightning Bolt
Dispel Magic
Teleport
Wish
Charm Person
Polymorph
Summon Monster
Invisibility
Wall of X
Bigby's Hands
Continual Light
Flight

With some others being wanted, but less popular.
