Spellslinger - Anyone got it? What do you think?

I haven't yet seen this one in the LGS yet, but I'm thinking about picking it up. I have not yet bought one of FFG's "Horizon" books...

So - anyone seen this yet? I'm ready to start a Catoblepas run through the Goblinoid badlands, on through Stone Giant pass...

I think it's very cool, up there with the more useable Polyhedron mini-games.

The brands are an intersting way of handling special abilities and effects even as they take away the core ability of the classes.

I can see someone running this as a mini-campaign after trudging through the planes.

I bought it this weekend and have to say it's a great book and yet another winner from FFG. I like the catoblepas idea: perhaps I should have them replace buffalo herds IMC?

Anyway, when a couple of my long-term campaigns end, I plan to fill a few sessions with an adventure for Spellslinger and another for Grimm just for a change of pace.

Arani,

No, Spellslinger just lists the additional racial traits. Anyway, even if it did list the racial traits, a PHB is still needed for spells, combat etc....

Did anyone else really like the rules for showdowns?

I'm a big fan of the Iajutsu (I know I misspelled that) rules from Oriental Adventures and L5R so I thought they fit in pretty well.

And yes, you'll need the PBH as it just lists the tweaks, mostly changes to specific skills that don't exist here.
