Not to knock you, bt I don't understand why someone would choose this class. You can get basically the same effects with a spell storing sword and a mithril chain shirt. Spell failure reduced to almost nothing, Ac check is nothing, max dex at +6. and the sword lets you store lvl 3 spells in there. Why waste class levels.
As other people have noted, 10% ASF is not the same as no ASF. Having played a character from level 1-9 living with 10-20% ASF, I can say that it's both annoying and dangerous. Although one can live with it, it's much better not to. Max dex of +6 isn't anything to write home about either. It works out fo the same AC as a mithral breastplate but for a good deal more resources (since +6 dex usually requires gloves of dexterity--and doubly so for an arcane spellcaster who will spend his points on int). It works out to one point less AC than mithral fullplate (which requires very little expenditure to max out the +3 max dex).
Channel Spell is also DRAMATICALLY better than a spellstoring weapon. (And it stacks for ultimate one round smackdown goodness). Channel spell doesn't require a targetted spell so ray spells like ray of enfeeblement, Ray of Exhaustion, scorching ray, and enervation are eligable. Channel spell goes up to 4th level spells so Enervation and Empowered Scorching Ray are eligable. Channeling a spell is a move action so you can channel and attack in the same round. And at 10th level spellsword, channel spell allows you to store two spells in the weapon simultaneously. A tenth level spellsword can attack twice with his primary weapon, discharging an empowered scorching ray on each hit, quickdraw a secondary weapon and attack twice with it (using a haste attack), discharging two more empowered scorching rays, and if they're spellsworing weapons, he can toss off two vampiric touches in that round too. Not bad for a single round.
Bladesinger is a much better class IMO. better saves, and better class abilities.
Ugh. There's not much meat on the new bladesinger class--at least not anything worth giving up five spellcasting levels for (maybe one level for the song of fury, and another level or two for no ASF in light armor and int bonus to AC, and possibly another for improved HD and BAB, but that doesn't push it up to "worth taking all ten levels"). WRT Spellsword, the ASF reduction is worth two spellcasting levels and channel spell is probably worth one or two, and if Eldritch Knight is taken to be balanced, a full BAB, a bonus feat and improved HD are worth another. Since Spellsword gets d8 hp instead of d6 and gets an good will save progression as well, I'd say it makes it up to "potentially worth taking all the way."
