Spellweaver Help

First Post
So, I'm gonna use a spellweaver (MM2 p187) against my players shortly. There was a nice article in Dragon 338 too. The base creature is a CR10 which is lower then I'm looking for. So I figured I'd advance him to about a CR 14. My problem is I'm not sure the best way to do this. I'm assuming ANY class is 'associated' as the SW advances its spell casting by any hit dice. So the real question is what class to add to give the best synergy...
Fighter type for the HP and attack bonus?
Cleric to give access to the divine spells? (Which I assume would work with spell weaving)
Or (ewww) Ur-Priest?
Rogue to get the sneak attacks?
Monk for nice saves and some funky abilities.
Psion?
Any ideas?
The creature does have a point in being there, but can use any background that incorporates the whole "desires all magic items" bit.
Thanks for any help.

Artificer. ;-)

What do you see the spellweaver doing in a fight? Does it have a lot of minions, or is it more of an independent operator? More spellcasting levels would be good for an overlord-type; ur-priest would be all kinds of evil, but might require more in terms of backstory. I'd think about Theurgist, or maybe the Effigy Master from Complete Arcane. Mindbender or Thrallherd might work well, too.

If you want it to work alone, some kind of stealth to back up its spellcasting would be good. Spellthief might be the most fun, and in keeping with the race. A combination of rogue and monk is always powerful, especially if the creature can get sneak attacks with multiple arms or weapons.

While artificer is indeed the default powergaming answer, I think a few levels of ur-priest, cleverly used, might actually result in more power.
