2 of my sisters have started up a ePublising company and they need authors in order to publish so here is a press release from them. If you have any questions that this and there site doesn't answer feel free to ask them here or contact them through there site and if the question is here I'll get a response for you.

SphinxBooks.com Seeking Submissions

SAN MATEO, Ca. – October 25 - SphinxBooks.com has
launched an e-publishing website with a call for
authors and cover artists. The publisher is seeking
original science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mystery
novels, as well as Role Playing Games.

SphinxBooks.com, an LLC registered in the state of
California, was founded with the belief that too many
great novels remain unpublished due to the barriers
within the print publishing industry, and that eBook
technology and the eBook market are advancing.

E-publishing fills several market niches. Ebooks are
typically less expensive than paper books. They’re
quick and easy to download – no more waiting for that
book in the mail or trips to the bookstore. And
eBooks are especially useful for the vision-impaired
reader, who can increase the size of the text or use
reader technology to have the text read aloud by the
computer. As technology advances, eBooks are going to
become ubiquitous.

Author royalties for eBooks are higher than with print
publishing – 37.5%. The technology also enables
quicker publication. SphinxBooks.com’s response time
to manuscript submissions is estimated at only two
months.

To submit a novel, role playing game, or sample
artwork, visit www.SphinxBooks.com for submission
guidelines.

The guidelines for artists aren't as informative as those for writers. You may wish to bring this to someone's attention.

Thanks for the comments. Yes you're right, no advances. As to the artists they are ready to make changes and are open to suggestions. Specifically they are looking for cover artists and artists for any rpgs that get produced. With that in mind what additional informaiton would you like to see?

I'm waiting to see if there are any specific open calls. For example, I would like to see if a particular character sketch is needed, or a simple object such as a gun. Do you guys have any need for graphic designers (for logos and such) at this time?

I also like to know what mediums are prefered for interior art, such as lineart, color, or grayscale.

I'll definitely keep everyone informed about open calls and the like. For my sisters to succeed they will need talented individuals, and this board certainly has plenty of talented individuals. Right now they are actively looking for authors of books and RPGs. The guidelines are here http://www.sphinxbooks.com/guidelines.html They'll be actively looking for artists in the next few months. Once they have accepted manuscripts for books and RPGs they'll know what art they need.

Read the entire guidelines but in short for manuscripts they want this "Send a query e-mail and attach a 2-3 page synopsis and the first thirty pages of your manuscript as Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (.rtf) files. We do not accept paper submissions. We prefer Fantasy, Sci-fi, Horror, and Mystery novels around 80,000 words and up."
