Jack, Inhuman Reach gives +5 feet to your natural reach, so for a medium creature that is normally now 10 feet; and the rules on reach weapons are- they double your natural reach so long as you are wielding a reach weapon that is the appropriate size for you (so a medium creature with inhuman reach that wields a medium spiked chain has 10 feet natural reach doubled to 20 feet). There are no discrepancies that you speak of.
Not trying to badger him, just presenting an argument from my point of view. I don't know if he has little to no say in anything.
Your language was bordering on snide in that paragraph, so the only conclusion I could come to was you were badgering.
I know exactly what the rules are concerning Inhuman Reach and the lines about reach weapons doubling one's natural reach. There are also the lines within the feat itself saying it grants even further reach with reach weapons. The discrepancy comes when one comes to believe a medium chain (or most any other reach weapon) simply isn't long enough for that to work, rules or no rules. I know you (and many others) don't put much stock in that, but other people do sometimes, and I posted because of that potential. It has nothing to do with my own opinion of it, by the way, since I do think that most melee need all the help they can get.
