OKAY. I saw this cool Eyeball Monster ....right?

Well after seeing it in the MMIII Gallery on the wizards page I go to look up the Spiralle, it appears right in the gallery between "Spellwarped Creature" and "Splinterwaif". So....I go to the book and flip to about that section and it jumps from Spellwarped Template to Splinterwaif. I then go to the index in the front and....it isn't there. I then check the Erratta for the book and it isnt mentioned in there either. So THEN I google for it and...NOTHING. Absolutely nothing turns up at all.

Am I just missing something? Am I just insane? Has an Uzumaki spiral like madness infected my brain, or did this poor innocent Eyeball monster fall through the cracks? Was it just cut from the book at the last second or what? :-S I swear I have seen this thing once before, but I dont know where. Did it make it into another book?

What do you guys think it would do, or what type or CR do you think?

That middle bit looks awfully like a pretzel.

You KNOW...it does.

THAT ASIDE thanks, looks like that did a last minute name change. Looking at it, its kinda cool, pretty gnarly to send after some camping lowbies- albeit I DO wonder: If its thing is to hit somebody with sleep or sneak up on them sleeping, and then strangle them-how do you get them off?

Its an (Ex) ability that can only be used on helpless opponents, and sleeping opponents are helpless, but does the strangling NOT awaken someone? Slapping or Damaging normally does (but not normal noise.) The lash attack it has to hit with is normally 1d4-3 which is a fancy way of saying it USUALLY does no damage unless it maxes. So I presume that if it deals no damage it doesnt awaken you, AND while suffocating opponents it deals no damage to awaken the subject either?

"If a lurking strangler hits a helpless foe with its lash attack, it wraps itself around the victim’s throat and begins to choke it. In the first round, the victim falls unconscious (0 hit points). In the following round, she drops to –1 hit points and is dying. In the third round, she suffocates and dies."

Technically just "falling unconscious" (and in reality, you only STAGGERED and concious @ 0, but it may be that you are just unconcious AND at 0 independent of one another) is not taking damage, even if your HP just suddenly "becomes" Zero. There were no rolls. Albeit dropping to -1 may be damage, but I presume by that point as a result thereof you couldnt be waking up from anything anyway.

I presume it wouldnt take anything to remove it? I mean it has a -10 grapple modifier.

A party of seasoned, veteran adventurers go to sleep around the camp fire. Despite keeping watch, they wake one morning to a party member dead, abrasions around the neck. As they scratch their heads and try to seek a solution, a small creature slithers and shuffles away into the underbrush...

This is why you always, always sleep in a rope trick.

Yes, because it's not like someone could kill you in your sleep with, lets say, a magical rope. Because they're not a spell for that or anything.
Gotta watch yourself with those other PC's, especially those caster types. What happens in pocket dimensions, stay in pocket dimensions.

1. Give a PC said spell
2. Give secret notes to PC during game
3. Use said monster
4. ?????????
5. PROFIT!

Rope trick is the worst case scenario for a Peeping Tom...

creatures that can see the window can’t see through it

Even an Epic Peeping Tom faces a few problems with the spell...

Creatures in the extradimensional space are hidden, beyond the reach of spells (including divinations)
