Spirit's Shield

You've confused the difference between Opportunity Attack and Opportunity Action. Under Opportunity Action (PH268), you will notice that "The one type of opportunity action that every combatant can take is the opportunity attack." The text of teleport states that you cannot make an opportunity attack. It does not prevent opportunity actions of every kind.

I already addressed this.

You need to look at the PHB2, teleportation keyword. It disagrees with you, and disallows 'Opportunity Actions for Leaving a Space.'

PHB2-Teleportation-p221 said:
No Opportunity Actions: The creature or object being teleported doesn’t provoke opportunity actions for leaving its space.

And Forced Movement disallows Opportunity Actions of -any- kind. There's no problem at all.

My PHB2 disagrees with you. Teleportation specificly mentions opportunity action + leaving a square.

I hate when they change rules in other books. The PHB states "no opportunity attack" for Teleport.

If they are going to change the rules, I'd also prefer that they put the new rule in the PHB errata as well (which they didn't in this case).

I can see your point, but by the same measure, the opportunity actions rule never really came up in play until PHB2 anyways, so it's fitting that they updated the rule in the book that required the update to be addressed to begin with.

So, you only need to worry about the PHB2 interpretation if you're using material in PHB2.

There are opportunity action traps in the DMG, but none of them are triggered by leaving the square.

I actually like it that they're using the new sets of core books to reprint changed rules. It makes them more accessible.

I agree, though, that they should also include any changes in their errata documents.
