(Spoilers) Ultimate Spider-Man

I received both USM #29 and #30 within a few days, and now it's the longest possible time until more USM (sigh).

I'm really into this plotline. Spidey's hardly ever been shot like this before.

Who's laying bets on the impostor? I bet it's the Chameleon. It's not the first time he's impersonated Spidey, down to the webshooters.

Of course, Mysterio did it once also, and both of them did it when they first appeared.

It can't be some kind of mind control, because we've seen Spidey in two places at once, but the cops seem to think he's the culprit.

Anyone else think that police sergeant speaking on the news at the end of #30 looks a lot like Norman Osborn? That's one of Mr. Bagley's big drawbacks as an artist: he only has one or two "generic" faces.

Can't wait for more Marvel!

For some reason i think the imposter is going to be somewhat more mundane in origan then Mysterio or the Chamelion, nothing to back my opion up, it's just a hunch.

Well, it would be the first time he's impersonated him, because the story started over from scratch. :)

No, that foreshadowing with Ben Ulrich makes me think that the Kingpin is behind this attempt to discredit Spidey. If so, I'm especially curious how the fake Spiderman is creating webbing. He's clearly super strong - but I don't think we've seen him sticking to any walls.

The foreshadowing of Gwen breaking up Peter's and MJ's relationship is right in place.

But yeah - this is currently my favorite comic book, after years of only reading DC and Vertigo books. It's unbelievably good.

PS My wife read it, looks up at me, and comments, "Aunt May has somehow gotten a lot hotter." :D

Okay, so it's a new series. I was just saying it's been done -- not that Mr. Bendis seems to be reading the archives very closely :D

Besides, we haven't yet seen either the Chameleon or Mysterio. That makes them prime targets.

As for the webbing... Peter's left plenty of the stuff everywhere. Sure, it dissipates after a while, but if someone moves fast enough I'm sure they can get a sample and preserve it for study.

And it didn't seem to me the impostor was particularly strong. Sure, he beat up a security guard and a banker, but he had surprise on his side and was using Spidey's reputation for strength to get an edge. And no, we haven't seen him climb walls yet.

I'm sort of looking forward to issue #33. A preview is up on the Marvel site, and it's got a certain Drooling Psycho (TM) on the cover... more I cannot say.

Just because the webbing looks the same as peter's doesn't mean it is. It could be a formula designed by some one else.

As to UV, i can't wait if anyone can make his enterance cool it will be Bendis.
