Sports in Eberron

What type of modern or fantasy sports do you see being played in Eberron for recreation.

I can see football, since its very warlike.

But most of all, in all settings aside from Harry Potter. I can really see Quiddich working for Eberron.

Quiddich doesn't really work at a sport, IMHO. It works in a novel, but if you sit down, and think about the rules, it doesn't make sense how a game can win no matter what when you catch that golden weasel thing (whatever it's called). That was just sort of a gizmo stuck in so Harry could win despite the team losing.

I can't imagine any sort of contact sport would work in Eberron, because of those Warforged. Have you ever tackled a lamppost? (I have, while playing ultimate frisbee in wet grass while wearing mocassins. Not that I meant to tackle the lamppost, but not being able to stop myself, I didn't have any choice). That's basically what tackling a Warforged would be like.

I can see something like soccer. Or basketball. Moving a ball through something seems to be the basis for a lot of sports. Maybe using a halfling or gnome instead of a ball?

Ladies and gentlemen, the internet.

Warforged gridiron would be a fun specator sport. Oooh! Or Battlebots / Robot Wars! Artificers Scrapheap Challange!

Rickshaw racing, warforged are the pullers.

I can see them racing through a city, barrelling down streets, population yelling and cheering as they canter around corners...

Before you criticize something, get your references right.

First of all, it's a golden snitch.

Second of all, it's not an automatic game-winner. It's worth 150 points, where a goal is 10 points. If you get 16 goals up on the competition (which happens in one of the games in the novel series) then even if your seeker gets the snitch, you still lose.

A seeker in quidditch is about as important as a pitcher in baseball. Yes, if you don't have a good one, you're doomed, but if you think he's the only one that's important you're just as doomed.
