Rhaavin

Rhaavins peaceful times seem to be ending as the regular skirmishes that occured in the past with various humanoid tribes from the deeper reaches of the Eternal Wood (as well as under those reaches) seem to be occuring much as they did fifteen years ago. While not enough to ready the military some are worried. Many are a little concerned with the sudden spring up of these skirmishes and raids as they have occured only within the past season. Many believe the humanoids have been biding their time and breeding an army but not even they could truly threaten Rhaavin... right?

Mittendien

In response to the frost giant invasion of Thoradur, the Kaiser sends troops to Marzen and Schwartzburg, reinforcing the garrisons of those cities, hopefully to deter the giants from advancing southward. Extra troops are also sent to Fort Krieghelm, on the Olderfen; the construction effort is doubled to complete the fortress. Patrols are sent north from the fort along the river.

The Kaiser also sends an envoy to the remnants of Thoradur, offering to send troops across the lake to assist in pressing the giants back and liberating Dwarven lands, in exchange for dwarven-forged armor and weapons for the army's elite units.

In the poor quarters of Dumeldein, there is an uprising of people protesting the Kaiser's aid to the dwarves, insisting that the troops would be better spent taking the land for Mittendien. The riot is quelled, but many are killed and the guard suffers a blow to morale. Although violence does not erupt anywhere else, most of the kingdom seems to share the sentiment.

Thoradur

King Grimstone and the dwarves reel from the frost giant attack and are unable to mount a quick response. Without aid from the king, hill dwarves collect a small army to retake eastern Falinus and wreak vengeance on the heads of frost giants.

When the dwarves cross into occupied Falinus they find a country much colder than it should be. There is a frost in the air and still snow heavy on the ground. The dwarves make for the great city of Lorindar to free its partially trapped inhabitants. Outside Lorindar they are met by a great force of frost giants. And in the sky swoop down dragons of white scales.

The hill dwarves make a valiant stand and are nearly saved when a force of hill dwarves comes rushing from Lorindar's gates to help. But the power of the frost giants and the breath and talons of the white dragons is too much. The spirit of the dwarves is broken and most are killed.

Falinus is weakened to the point that no sizable force can be mustered. White dragons begin to patrol the port of Lorindar so boats can no longer reach it. White dragons are spotted all along the new border. It seems only time before Lorindar and the other hold outs are crushed.

Meanwhile the frost giants have let it be known that all humans seeking passage out of the country may leave without harm. Many groups of humans take the offer and cross over into Swartzburg. The giants keep their words and do not harm humans. The humans return to Mittendien with the message that the frost giants do not wish to war with humans nor will they enter Mittendien. Their quarrel is with Thoradur.

As the spring warms the rest of Thoradur, the land under control of the frost giants remains locked under the spell of winter.

Cryndon

Business continues in Cryndon. Rumors persist of a group being gathered to attempt to free Thoradur of the giants.
