Heard The Rising at a friend's place on the weekend, and had to borrow the CD. Then I picked up the Essential Bruce Springsteen, the 3-CD set collecting 25+ years of his work. I'd forgotten just how much The Boss rocks.

Either way, nobody writes classic working-class rock anthems like The Boss. Listening to The Promised Land and The River makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

GAH! No! Don't say that! Of course he's from Jersey! I grew up in his "Hometown" of Freehold. Grew up going to the shore - Asbury Park where the Stone Pony is, and all the clubs in and around. Bruce is forever a Jersey boy. He has a farm in Colts Neck now.

The Boss puts on a helluva concert. I think it might be the best rock concert I ever went to, and I went to a lot.
