[Spycraft 2.0] Hey Phil Reed! Are you making a fantasy version?

Waiting for my copy of Spycraft 2.0.
From what I've heard so far, it sounds awesome... and perfect for Eberron adventures.

Since Phil Reed has been talking about making a 'FantasyCraft' game based on Spycraft, I really would like to know if this is goind to happen, or if I will have to do it myself. Which will be nowhere as good.

I will pay good dollar. Good, good dollar.

Sorry, but that wasn't quite in my plans. I think the discussion on trademark use and abuse has led to several people getting the impression that I'm creating a fantasy game using the Spycraft 2.0 system. Sorry for the confusion.

I'd like to see a fantasy adaption of it.

It would be a lot easier to do a Spy/Mission based fantasy... but a normal fantasy could also be done, but you would have to rework some of the class abilities as they pertain to missions and aquiring equipment from missions.

But Action Dice, Core Abilities, Tons of cool feats, campaign qualities... that could be really cool.

--Edit

Also would would be overhead? Would the iniative system as it is be something good for fantasy or not? Or wouldn't it be better just putting it in there with notes on how to use or ignore it if you didn't like it?

You would also need to work magic items into the gear somehow

Ah, well. Hopefully, it will happen, somewhere, somehow. Or I really will have to do it myself...

Too bad. AEG doesn't put out stuff in pdf and it would be nice to have some of the rules in pdf form.

I would kill for a pdf of spycraft 2.0!

It would make character gen so much easier, and gameplay faster to have a Gear Packet, Feats, Skills, classes all in seperate packets. probobly multiple Class bundles. It would speed up character gen backlog so much!

I'd also love a FantasyCraft rpg similar to SpyCraft (which could also be called ModernCraft) :)

SpyCraft is now my modern day setting rpg, so long d20 Modern. *waves hand goodbye with a smile*

I now want a similar book for Fantasy cuz I really don't care for D&D and most derived fantasy settings that require the use of D&D. Some OGL games are cool though.

You should really consider this as an option, or even come up with a possible fantasy conversion of the SpyCraft 2.0 classes and how they could be adapted to a fantasy world... please.... Super Please..... You'd gain a few worshippers at your almighty feet!!! :D

I'm tired of spending more time making NPC's than I do running the game itself. SpyCraft makes this so much easier, and a whole lot more fun.

While I'd love to create such a PDF there's just no way to do it as an expansion to the Spycraft rules without some sort of approval from AEG. So far my e-mails to the addresses suggested (for Spycraft licensing) have not been responded to (though it's very likely that everyone's busy with pre-GenCon work).

So for now it's not an option. Besides, I'm already behind on the work I need to accomplish.

A League of Extraordinary Spies would be awfully cool, but perhaps with more of a classic D&D feel by putting lots of ruins full of hack and slash challenges in Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.

Then assign some gadget point costs to magical artifacts.

I've never done the 19th Century thing before but this is something I might be able to get behind.

BTW, I asked for permission for a smallish Spycraft web posting way back when (using the Spycraft vehicle rules for an item) and, while it took a while, they eventually got to my request and were quite friendly.

I think Pat is only allowed away from his keyboard to be wheeled down to the labs were they continue to hope to clone him. It's not just GenCon - we have only hours left to get World on Fire done and the pace is nothing short of frenzied.

I have directly passed along your name, but as you say, probably nothing to be done (by email) until after the show. If you are going, you might talk to him directly there :)!

I am as excited by the interest in and prospects of PbS .pdfs as anyone!
