Wow! Did anyone know that was going to happen?

I believe there is also going to be a second printing of this book as a "Flaming Cobra" release, for those that need to track it down in hardcover.

I did.

I didn't think they were going to go through RPGnow, just DTRPG. But Scott Gearin discussed after they were accidentally put up and taken down how they needed a little work before they went up for good.

Incidentally, the PDF says "second printing", so I suspect this is the same material as the mongoose release.

How is that price as compared to the print version?

And what's up with DrivethruRPG?
I go there, and it auto redirects to rpg.drivethrustuff.com Is that their new website, now?

PDF is 25, print is 40. So over half. Normally I'd balk at PDF prices over 50%. But considering that this is possibly the most distilled book on the market, I don't feel too bad off. Not to mention the print version is a steal at 40 dollars full color.

I thought they put a statement up on their front page to that effect, yes.

We're in the process of refining our look, including a more streamlined menu board, and moving the the Quick Search to the upper-right portion of your window now. Also, our URL has changed in preparation for some big additions to the site which will be live in about a week.

Hmmm....
Now that they're PDF... It might be worth getting in order to mine for my other D20 Modern games.
Opinion time...
Would it be worth getting strictly as a resource for existing D20 Modern games?
Or would it not be worth the conversion efforts?
Just to put out front: I'm not interested in running Spycraft, just in mining it for stuff to add to existing D20 Modern / Future games.

Oooh. Tough call, but my initial impression is no. The thing to keep in mind here is this is a core book. Though SC2.0 adds a lot to the d20 formula, at heart, you are going to get core book stuff. If you aren't interested in taking advantage of the changes the book makes to the core game, I would suspect that the value would be limited to, oh, say, 30% of the book. Some things it adds like the gadget system is the same sort of stuff that you see in RPGO products like blood & circuits. The campaign qualities are great, and some of them might be adaptable to d20 modern. Backgrounds might also be a good fit, and will feel familiar if you like the RPGO legends backgrounds.

If you are interested in what might be potential house rules or some unholy amalgam, prognosis might be stronger.

It seemed to me that the various chase and dramatic conflict sub-systems could be ported over to d20 Modern without too much difficulty and that'd be handy.

Nice to see that Crafty's going right into PDF support. I look forward to seeing what else is coming up from them and 3rd party pubs.

That's a good point. You'd have to translate the skills, but it shouldn't be too difficult.
