Ooooooo.... I definitely like the Talent/Specialty that replaces the old "Department" system. And more things to do with Action Dice are always good. I'll have to put this on my Christmas list...

They've uploaded a few more bits to the website... Including the first 5 levels of Soldier and Wheelman.

I especially like the Wheelman's "Manual Adjustment" class ability.

Does this mean that 1e book prices will be drastically cut? :heh:

(I'd love to get my hands on a couple of them for use with Modern, but I don't want to pay the sticker price...)

Hey, when I get the book I'll send you mine for the cost of shipping it, buddy. I'll email you.

Yeah. I've been waiting ages and ages for this. I liked the original Spycraft's version of the d20 system a lot, but I found the original classes in the book to be somewhat lacking for how I wanted to use it. And I didnt' want to have to shell out $100s to buy the various Shadowforce Archer books to get more core classes (especially since I hated SFA)
I'll second that.

I bought Spycraft when it came out, thought it was really neato, but I quickly realized how incomplete it was. No NPC classes for minions, gaping holes in core class niches, no prestige classes. Everything I felt should have gone into the core was off in various rulebooks, spread out widely. $25 dollar books with one class I would want, and if I got everything I wanted to have all the rules I felt were needed to make Spycraft run right, I would be spending easily hundreds of dollars. I felt ripped off, like they intentionally left a lot of what was needed

I remember complaining about this in another thread, only to be told that Spycraft was a complete game as-was (except for the XP info in the PHB), and that all the various things I wanted were conveniently in various books I could pick up.

If D&D was as "complete" as core Spycraft 1.0, the PHB would have Fighter, Rogue, Cleric and Wizard as core classes, with Human, Elf and Dwarf as races, no prestige classes, commoner as the only NPC class, and a monster manual of a dozen or so humanoids and animals, and maybe one dragon.

I'll take a good look at Spycraft 2.0, and if it's a good improvement over 1.0 (especially in terms of completeness, which it sounds like), if it's out by Gen Con I may well pick it up there. The book is even likely to be fully OGL since WP/VP is Open Content now, thanks to UA.
