Ok, so the street date was pretty much right on target then.
I've always found it odd that some companies release a street date that occurs like a week before the game stores could possibly have it - like when the product begins shipping to the distributer.
In other media (DVDs, CDs, novels) the street date is the date the vedors are allowed to start selling the product. They'll have it in stock and ready for sale by that date.
I hope other RPG companies can take notes on how AEG and Malhavic got it right.
