[Spycraft/S9] Sleight-of-Hand

Xander gives a little smirk , " Lightin up , If I have learned one thing in this life it is not to be so serious. True , our line of work is not for the faint of heart but still a little humour never killed anybody." Xander then turns and speaks under his breath , " As far as I know".

Later that day Xander comes to sarah " Well , don't worry I'm going as John Mcguire a semi -wealthy business man." Xander looks at his watch, " Well , it's about time to go , so how about we make our plan and get this mission over with."

Sarah hated relying on other, less competent people. True, Xander would be a great person to have in a brawl, but as a spy...

Still, Section Nine operatives were the best of the best, and X-Cel was sure to be quite skilled and versatile. He probably won't be too bad, Sarah thinks to herself. She had to rely on him.

"Okay. Start a fight with him. Get him to spill something on you or something. Or create another distraction. To signal the beginning of your diversion, touch the side of your head with two fingers, like so." Sarah demonstrates the simple maneuver, then continues. "Or perhaps you could 'accidentally' spill something on his jacket. Apologize profusely, and start wiping it up. Then I'll go for the phone. We'll follow him to his car and plant the tracker as well."

An agent must be adaptable, and making complex plans before entry could only result in ruin. It was best to imagine a general outline, and then to improvise; at least in this situation. Sarah hated the uncertainty of it. Sighing, she lifts up her .40 S&W, examing the cold, black firearm before placing it on the table.

"ok , then we will do what I suggested first. A simple distraction and you pick pocket his phone. I will spill something on him and give you the time you need to get his cell phone , after that we will plant the tracker. So when you are ready , lets go."

The well-dressed, helpful staff weave in and out of the crowds, serving expensive champaigne, vintage wines and tasty hors d'ouevres prepared by a celebrity chef. Elise picks a delight from one of the trays, a round of brioche with mayonnaise, and an onion slice.

Elise Riccio is in a small cluster of 3 men and 1 woman. Riese is one step behind and to the left of Elise, shadowing her every movement, scanning the room with his dark eyes, looking for any potential threats. From time to time, you notice Simon Riese tightening his fists. From what X-Cel recalls, Riese never takes off his black leather gloves - ever.

A blonde and overly tanned young man delivers a hoity-toity punch line and Elise responds by laughing confidently and heartily before taking a long sip of bubbly.

((Alrighty, boys and girls, let's get this party started!

Sarah G. makes her appearance at the Gala as Sarah Tillock, high powered financier. X-Cel arrives as John McGuire, business man.))

At the party

Sarah makes her away around the party, overhearing quick lines of conversation and entering them, pretending to know those involved. "Why hello, how wonderful to see you again. How's the family?" she says to one bewildered man. To another, a suspected gangster, "Hello again. How fares the family business?" To a third, an oily diplomat, "How good to see you again. Tell me, how well did the talks go?"

Eventually, she makes her way to Elise, and smiles charmingly at her. "Hello, dear. I simply adored you in your last film. You definitely have talent." Pausing to retrieve a glass of champagne from a nearby waitress, she continues. "I'm Sarah Tillock. My company consults and advises many of the film studios. "I am delighted to meet, Elise."

Riese casts cursory glances at Sarah as she approaches, dividing his attention between Sarah and scanning the rest of the room. You notice that he is making eye contact with at least 2 other burly men circulating around the room.

EDIT: Riese's suit jacket is open and you can see his mobile phone dangling from a belt clip on his waist.

"And likewise delighted, Sarah." Sarah flashes a gigawatt smile. "Talented and adored by movie goers across the globe!" Elise proclaims to half the guests in the room. "Make sure you tell Arthur that! *wink* But seriously, I'm just paying my dues, bella. Just trying to keep Arthur happy and rolling in the dough until I find something I can really work with. I appreciate the complement, but you're too kind, Sarah. Is it too much to ask for Isis for Cleopatra or Nefertiti?! What do I get? Verduria, Witch Queen of Venus! Doesn't take much talent, dear. My best work is yet to come, you'll see."

((Hurricain, I have to ask: is X-Cel going to disguise himself before going to the gala?))

(( ooc: Well I was not sure if I knew if Simon has ever seen my face. If he has then yes I will go to the gala disguised with hopefully the help of Sarah?. ))

((From the X-Cel's history, the event that caused X-Cel so much grief was planned and perpetrated by Riese/Larkin. It is very likely that Riese knows what X-Cel looks like.

To the rest of you, sorry about being so vague, I don't want to give away too much of X-Cel's background without giving Hurricain the chance to tell X-Cel's story in his own words. :D

Who the hell is she talking about? Sarah wonders idly as the annoying actress drones on and on. With a smile fixed on her face, she says "Well I thought you performed wonderfully. I'm sure we're all highly anxious to see even greater talent in your best work that is yet to come."

What a moron. Get a real job. Sarah thinks to herself. Where the heck was X-Cel? She hoped his disguise worked properly; she was extremely careful in hiding his appearance. Sarah, of course, had no worries about being identified. Her face was relatively unknown, and as yet she, to the best of her knowledge, had never been traced to any operation.
