SR: You don't have to lower it after all?

LA, matters only for players, not for Monsters or NPCs.
And tell me those uber-spells in high levels that have no Save but SR!
Don't state Ray of Enfeeblement or Scorching Ray they hit you starting at level 3.

Antilife shell, Blasphemy, destruction (save, but still 10d6 damage), dictum, enervation, energy drain, faerie fire, geas/quest, holy word, ice storm, otto's irresitable dance, all the power word spells, prayer, quench on fire creatures, scintillating pattern, storm of vengeance (part of it), teleportation circle, waves of exhaustion, waves of fatigue, word of chaos: and any spell that does save for half (even passing the save may kill you).

I know all those spells as well, if you want protection cast SR, get an Item that gives you SR, play a race that gives you SR, but stop complaining about that SR is not perfect in each and every way. You want something, pay for it! -The one or the other way so.

If you yourself need no magic, cast AMF, use Shapechange to become a creature that is nearly immune to magic >GOLEMS<. What do you want, the rules making your character the uber-hero, the rules are there to balance things.

All those spells that use negative energy or are death-effects can be blocked by a 4th level spell: Deathward, I forgot, you can dispell deathward as well.

Then maybe you should play a Golem yourself, but wait most of them can't heal or can't be healed with positive energy either.

But wait there is more play a GOD taken from Deities and Demigods or Faith and Pantheons, it should have a high enough SR so you are pleased and immunities and ablities on top.

What should I say all you do is complain, no way is perfect, as is no character or anything else in the world. So you mustn't be perfect either, nor am I be perfect at all! -There is nothing to discuss anymore, the rules are clear and not ambigous!

The rules aren't clear. Or how do you explain the "(harmless)" behind the SR entry of spells? It should only behind the Saving Throw entry.

As for the rest: you won't make friends if you keep on being condescending and accusing people of being munchkins.
And you don't have what it takes to be a Hong. ;)

SRD 3.5 Spell Description, Saving Throw RPHB P.177
(harmless): The spell is usually beneficial, not harmful, but a targeted creature can attempt a saving throw if it desires.

SRD 3.5 Spell Description, Spell Resistance RPHB P.177
The terms “object” and “harmless” mean the same thing for spell resistance as they do for saving throws. A creature with spell resistance must voluntarily lower the resistance (a standard action) in order to be affected by a spell noted as harmless. In such a case, you do not need to make the caster level check described above.

Now tell me where the rules are unclear?!? -Nowhere, right!!!

You know, I still don't like your tone.

You've made your point, now you can leave. And please don't return until you've learned to be polite, OK?

So I will return and apologize for my rough tone, never meant to be that offensive, but if you consider it that way, I will watch out for more politeness in my posts.

So is there still anything unclear, as it is written? Or are the last quotes, I made, setting the ambigousness you mentioned aside, that it is now obvoius how SR works?!?

Great! [edit]Apology accepted.[/edit]Back to business, then

Nope. That reference eluded me. It seems to be quite clear now.

It's unwieldy, though. At least in my current campaign (Underdark), I won't introduce it. And this doesn't really put anyone at a disadvantage since most have SR anyway. (At least most enemies, and from the Party, the Cleric does, and the Psion, who can heal himself, anyway, so it doesn't change, they don't throw that many buffs around).

I think I'll put it into the next one, though (but since that will either be Midnight, and feature not many characters with SR, or Exalted FR, and feature no Drow - unless someone plans to run a Redeemed One or something - it should not feature greatly)

Looks to me like he was just pointing out your error. Maybe it wasn't done tactfully, but if you'd bothered to read the rules before posting it never would have happened. And telling someone to leave and not come back sounds more like a Moderator's place to me.
