SRD Legal Hassle - in need of help/advice

That wasn't supposed to be funny. Well, ok, maybe a little. :)

I'm feeling fine actually, thanks for asking... ;)
After the first two days I though: "This can't be happening". On the third day I though: "It is happening, but it's all quite surreal." Then, on the fourth day: "It's so surreal - it's actually funny." Or something like that.
The only reason for me feeling sad is: Mr. Meyer didn't response to my third email.

Quick word count:
1st Mr Meyer email: 93 words.
1st reply: 529 words.
2nd Mr Meyer email: 157 words.
2nd reply: 472 words.
3rd Mr Meyer email: 170 words.
3rd reply: 1235 words.
Then: nothing...

Obviously the last reply was too much for him. :p
Maybe (if I find the time...) I'll post my emails to him too. Just for thrills. Because I guess you can guess what I've told him (I've explained the licenses to him, basically).

I'm afraid I haven't checked out your site, Flyspeck, but you do seem like the wronged party here - and you're certainly the underdog. I'm behind you all the way. Fight the power, man. ;)

Soap opera? Heck, I'm in contact with Paramount right now. This major motion picture will be out in 2005, featuring Jim Carrey (as yours truly) and Christopher Walken (as Mr Meyer), named "No Amigos, just Muchachos" (still a working title). I'm not sure if it's supposed to be drama or comedy, sorry.

Back to the "real world". Yes, there has been news from WotC (Andy). No, there hasn't been from Amigo. Anyway, the handouts are back , as already mentioned in another thread.

Thank you all once again for all the help and advice (and the patience, no less).

Let me paraphrase it (hope Andy won't mind):
Basically, it's alright to use the SRD that way. And I didn't make any blatant errors concerning the licenses, as far as Andy could tell (but he's no lawyer...).

Good to hear that Flyspeck, that gives you even more credibility behind your claim that you are not the one in violation of the law. Since you have been contacted by an official representative of Amigo on more than one occasion, being asked to change something with your site that they had no legal right to order you to change, that might even make them liable for a harassment suit (if I am not mistaken about the law on this point. I am Danish, not German, there might be varieties).

Glad to hear that the movie is comming out :)
I actually thought of Mr. Meyer as more of a Jack Nicholson character than a Christopher Walken character. (Jack Nicholson in the Joker kind of way, not in the All About Smith kind of way).

Well, Amigo won't hear from me again - unless I hear from them first. I'm not in the mood of suing people or companies ;)

Oh, the movie. Well, it's Christopher Walken in a "God's Army" kind of way... or was that "Catch me if you can"? )

Not sure, of course, but glancing about. If you're using the OGL to put up the srd it seems you'd be fine.

But if you're labeling them as d20 would that 5% new content clause come to bear? Or is just putting them somewhere else not count?

At any rate, I'm glad you're in the clear. :grins: I was getting ticked just reading through this thread.
