Stacking BABs for classes?

What does that mean? If Vadania had a +1 BAB as a Druid and decided to go for another class with +3 at first level, would that give her a +4 BAB at second level?

Well, except that there's no class with a BAB of +3 at first level; fighting-type classes get a +1 BAB at first level; all other classes have a BAB of +0 at first level.

But, yes, you've got the general idea. You add up the BAB of each of your classes / levels to determine your overall BAB.

So, if you're a Druid 3 / Ranger 1, you add up the BAB for a 3rd level druid (+2) and a 1st level Ranger (+1), which gives you your total BAB of +3. To that total, you'd then add your Strength bonus for melee attacks, and your Dex bonus for ranged attacks.

(BTW, you handle base saving throw bonuses exactly the same way.)

Remember also that you get a multiple attack at each increment over 5. For example, once your total BAB is +12, your attacks are +12/+7/+2. (In other words, look up the entry in PHB Table 3-1: Base Save and Attack Bonuses that starts with the same number.)

and remember stat modifiers aren't BAB. so a +2 from Str 14. is +2 to attack. but is not +2 to BAB.
