Yeah, but that gives the DM interpretation headaches (Okay... so you're trying to say you're deliberately failing the save that you don't have to make because you've got incontrovertible proof it's not real because you cast it yourself..... umm....), and delays spell access for a few levels... and a regular Wall of Force will stop a golem - a GSE Wall of Force won't.

DC 25 at 1st level can be pretty nigh impossible. I once had a party store nearly 10 potions unidentified before someone made that DC. Identify was considered too costly for such cheap magic.

I once got burned. We found a bottle of liquid and I paid a mage to identify it. Turned out to be non-magical anti-toxin! I guess I should have had someone detect magic on it first...
