Star Wars adventure ideas

Illrein

First Post
I had originally decided to run a d20 Modern game with this idea, but instead I'm going to run it Star Wars. It takes place on Coruscant, and the PCs are introduced to the crime underworld there. They are assigned such mission duties as assassinations, ship stealing, blackmailing, laundering, prostitution, spice dealing, etc. I have a few adventure ideas in my head already, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Sequence

Start with prostitution.

It will make blackmailing easier later. ;)

We can probably give you some better ideas if you give us just a little more info:

What Era are you playing in?

How many players?

What character classes?

Any light-side Force users? That might be an issue.

The Star Wars RPG has given us one of our best campaigns to date. Good luck with yours!

I was planning to run it during the Rise of the Empire Era, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

I'm going to have at least 2 players. I have 2 more willing to play, but they are not definite and could decide not to play at any time.

I'm guessing the classes will be a scoundrel and/or noble and a soldier. I know one of the players dislikes playing force-users, but the other one might develop an interest in becoming a Jedi later on. If the two undetermined players decide they want to play, one will be a soldier and/or fringer and the other will most likely be a dark-side force-user (probably Jedi Guardian).

****Spoiler alert****

In the new jedi order, Corruscant gets captured and terraformed by the Vong. I really would use this era last. In fact I think it could be very interesting to set this during the rebellion era.

Well, I agree with Hopping Vampire on this one. Using the NJO time-frame also means that PCs will be more plausible if they multiclass into Jedi.

In the era of the Republic, one had to be very young to be trained at the Jedi Temple. Luke Skywalker isn't nearly as picky. ;)

Baraendur,

You raise an excellent point. But Illrein's games doesn't need to follow the "official" timeling for the EU books. In fact, it can be fun not to! I have read about 2 campaigns thus far that are based on Luke accepting Vaders offer to rule the galaxy at his side.

I know that if I were to run a post-RotJ campaign, I would not include the YV, as I do not like them.

And finally, there are a few years between the liberation of Coruscant and the YV invasion, correct? Illrein could set his campaign in that span of years in between.

I like the era of the NJO because of the endless possibilities for campaign ideas. Also, you really wouldn't be messing with the movie story line. I believe that is the era I am going to have my party play in.

I wonder what the Kessel Run might be like, post-Empire. Of course, it being on the Outer Rim, the Vong may have terraformed it, thereby taking all the fun out of it. On the other hand, maybe spice kills Vong...
