Star Wars d20 skills

Thought i'd see if anyone knew this even though it's not D&D.

Do Jedi Guardian/Consulars use all their skill points to split between regular skills and force skills? or do they get separate skill points for each of the two set of skills.

So a Guardian gets 4 skill points to spend on both skill sets? Or does he get 4 for regular skills and 4 for force skills?

The jedi guardian gets (4 + Int mod) skill points per level, total, which may be spent on Force &/or normal skills. There aren't two sets of skill points.

This should apply to any & every Force-using class, AFAIK.
 

Skills are skills -- if you take a lot of Force skills, you stink at other things.

Thus is the Jedi somewhat balanced. :)

What the others said. It's the sore point of skill-based magic/force/psionics/whatever, IMO. As long as fighting isn't achieved with skills, magic shouldn't be, either

Perhaps, but most of us don't like Jedi that cast/manifest Force powers. It give us one more reason why WotC shouldn't be doing Star Wars because they'll make it "D&D in space."
 

Green Ronin did similar with their Psychic character class.

You spent feats to gain special skills that you then had to spend skillpoints on. So basically your character would suck compared to normal characters.

Not really. At least the character is not bound by how many powers he can cast in one day. It all depends on how much Strain he's willing to take, which act like nonlethal damage and can be recovered faster than hit points (an amount equal to character level per hour).

Personally, this is the ideal model I'm looking for when it comes to psionics. That's why I passed on XPH for a more affordable, more to my liking, Psychic's Handbook.

Last time I checked, Jedi in Star Wars d20 used a skill-based system, so no fear.
