Star Wars: Jedi Deflection

I recently started playing one or two different Star Wars D20 games, and I had a question about Jedi's Blaster Deflection:

Deflect (defense); that just gives you a bonus to your Defense vs. ranged weapons, when you elect to do so. The trade off is that you lose your move action the next round. It says that it may be used as a reaction. So, does that mean you can just elect to use it when you would need the +1 or +2 to not get hit?

We've been doing it that way, so my DM will ask me if a 20 hits, and I'll say yeah, but deflect would give me a 21, so I do that. Have we been doing that right?

With the deflect (attack); anytime a blaster bolt misses you by 5 or less, without hitting you, you can deflect it, yes? That costs you your move action, same as defense?

Also, it says that you can have the deflected attack hit a target within one range increment. That means anyone you want? If Boba Fett shoots Luke, Luke can have the bolt hit Jabba's Skiff Guard #3, right?

Also, I assume you can deflect attacks from outside of one range increment, but you just wouldn't be able to reflect that one back?

Would Far Shot effect blaster bolts you were deflecting? IE, could you deflect a blaster bolt from a blaster rifle 80 meters, instead of just 40?

That last one just struck me, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

We play it that you can activate after the attack is declared but not after the dice is rolled.

Yes. You are using the Deflect ability, except this time to attack. Defelct costs a move action in your next round.

Yep. You still need to roll to hit but you can deflect blasts at other targets. I think the max range for deflected attacks in 1 range increment but I could be wrong.

I would say no but I would need to read the feat description again.
