Finally, you have no idea how much WotC would like to be able to produce more SWRPG stuff. They said so in their SW Minis seminar at GenCon, and I was told the same thing (privately) at lunch with one of the higher-ups. (No more details, sorry -- NDAs and all that.) They are continuing to fund new SWRPG material on the website because they love the game and they want to support it however they can. Trust me, we got together and discussed it at length, I made sure to pass along all the good ideas I've heard here and elsewhere, and I let them know about the petition and how it's gotten so many signatures so fast.
They know you want the RPG, and they want it, too -- it's just a matter of finding the magic bullet that will actually let them do it. They haven't given up on finding a way to support it (the website, the RPG appendix in Ultimate Missions: Revenge of the Sith), so please don't give up on them.
