And they go back to Force twins

Minor nitpick the new era doesn't real feel any different from the prequel era.
It's only 100 years. A few costume differences. With tech that advanced I doubt we'd notice the subtleties in a 100-year change. I bet that droid uses a different OS to the prequels, and the spacelane traffic laws are probably different.

They should have set it 10,000 years before. But hey, the Empire only lasted 7 minutes or so. That's one thing Foundation did well.

When I first heard "a long time ago" I thought Lucas meant like 10,000 years ago. These days, I realise he meant last week.

I mean technically in Legends there were Jaina and Jacen Solo too, though that made some sense because multiple births do run in families. And this trope of having siblings that look alike is also pretty well represented by the Clone Army. But I really do not think there have been enough screen projects to rehash this angle. How many non-Force sensitive twins have we had? And add on top of that this is the first screen project for a new era. And they go back to Force twins.
In totally different circumstances, with a very different relationship that's being used for different narrative purposes. This feels like a very weird thing to get hung up on.

As I said minor nitpick. Context they've been pushing the High Republic in other media eg books and comics.

As I said this is probably the best debut since Mando S1. Wasn't perfect but it was fun. I'll have to rewatch Ahsoka and Obi Wan as I thought they started off well.

Neither does the Old Republic era, and that was thousands of years ago.

Old Republic had a different style design, multiple Sith, Sith using blue lightsabers and not wearing masks.

Tales of the Jedi lightsabers had power cords and the ships looked more primitive. Mandalorian armor also looked very different.

More in depth stuff.

Positives. I liked the twins twist. Missed it early on I thought it was split personality type thing.

Solves the problem of a villain protagonist as well unless you're doing a redemption arc (over used atm).

Fight choreography. I liked it a lot.

Defeating a Jedi master. Should be hard but not impossible. May got her butt kicked most of the time. She did defeat one by "cheating" but she is a dark sider

In old legends Sith/darksiders would use Jedi compassion against them by targeting innocents.

The Ji are also out of practice. Remember karate in the 80s was greatest thing ever then MMA rolled around and what actually works.

Negatives. Fairly minor tbh. I had a fair fun watching it which is better 2 episodes in vs BoBF, OW or Andor.

1. Pacing and episode length. 28 minutes or so plus credits. Episode 1 Osha crashed on a planet cut to Coruscant and they've already rounded up the other escapees before cutting to her.

2. Yet another Sith black mask, red lightsaber. See where it goes.

As I aid lots of fun. Relative to the ST, TPM. AotC, BoBF, Mando S3, early Andor and Obi Wan I'll take it. Think I also liked it more than early Bad Batch and Rebels and I thought they ended up great.

Optimistically it gets better unless they really poo the bed it should end up better than BoBF.
