Stargate adventure hooks

I'm planning to run a homebrew d20 modern/future Stargate SG1 campaign. The campaign will begin in 2070, mainly PL6-7 technology, with a few PL8 items. The background story will follow the series until Season 4, the death of Apophis. While on the Earth two world wars take place, they close the stargate. The goa'uld system lords consolidate their power, and Anubis never returns (or maybe just planning to).

After creating the setting I found out that I don't have any adventure hooks to begin with. Could anyone throw a couple of hooks or adventure ideas?

I think its the 2 world wars that throw off ideas here. What caused them? How were they fought? Do you want to run a SGC campaign or just something that uses the stargate?

I would either
a) just start the game at the end of season 4 with no alterations and go from there or
b) take what you have described above. Set the game in the mid 21st century. A powerful corporation has gotten ahold of the stargate, the DHD from russia, and the records of the SGC and decide the time is right to start heading back to the stars. The soon discover that the SGC did send out one last mission, setting up a new SGC at an "Omega Site". This new SGC is still devoutly American and is doing their best to help the Ja'fa defeat the system lords, with limited success. But the new rulers of earth/america think they should take over the program. The SGC sees it differently. Depending on which side you want the PCs to be on they could either be SGC operatives fleeing from the new Earth forces or the new Stargate Operations Team that encounters the now machivellian terrorist cell that is the nucleous of the old SGC.

Are you trying to make a Stargate game or D20 Future game. Cause if its Stargate the gau'ld would not forget about Earth. They don't need stargates to there. Plus the stuff about the Ancients has come to light by then and they know Earth has info about that, they would want that. The Asgard have been attacked by the replicators so they really can't help us.

Maybe the Gau'ld allied with one of the sides durning the World War.

Or if you are going with a D20 thing, maybe some explores have stepped through the gate and are now exploring Earth. We have something they want. You players can keep them from taking it or help them in aquring it. This could be anything from naquida generators, starship technology, Ancient Technology, goa'uld tech or even Asgard equipment.

Skys the limit. I know you something popped into your head to bring the Stargate to 2070. What was it. The gate sitting in the middle of smoking ruins of a city, large armies gathered around it. Sitting in lab being studied. The more you give us the more hooks I can give you.

I definiately want to create a Stargate game. After rethinking, I was convinced that the goa'uld wouldn't forget about Earth. But I wanted to bring some cyberpunk flavor into the setting. The System Lords (after so many unsuccessful attacks they changed their tactics) agreed to infiltrate Earth using spies, who eventually caused both of the world wars, or at least WWIV. After WWIV the scientists finally analyzed the alien robotics/cybergear that had been found by the SGC in the first part of the 21th century. After developing it and having a little era of a cold war, WWV followed shortly. From the ashes a new civilisation rose. The USA, EU, Japan, and China are super powers today. Lots of ruined cities, and wast unhabitable areas remain all over the world, but civilisation remains, people are rebuilding their lives, and USA is reopening the Stargate with the help of all other super powers.
Before closing the gate when the wars started, a few of the original SG teams went through it to an unknown location (Omega base. Thanks for the idea).
Now the goa'uld agents have infiltrated various levels of nearly every government, and are transporting innocent (noncyborg) people to be hosts for goa'uld.
The players are SG-13, a band of explorers who know nothing about what happened in the background, and about the infiltration.
