Stargate casts sign on for new season
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 21, 2005

The full principal casts of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis have officially signed on for another year of adventures, The SCI FI Channel announced today.

Ben Browder ("Cameron Mitchell"), Amanda Tapping ("Samantha Carter"), Christopher Judge ("Teal'c"), Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson"), and Beau Bridges ("Hank Landry") will return for the record-breaking tenth season of SG-1. The team will be joined by newcomer Claudia Black ("Vala Mal Doran"), SG-1's newest full-time cast member.

Atlantis's Joe Flanigan ("John Sheppard"), Torri Higginson ("Elizabeth Weir"), David Hewlett ("Rodney McKay"), Rachel Luttrell ("Teyla Emmagan"), Paul McGillion ("Carson Beckett"), and Jason Momoa ("Ronon Dex") will return for Season Three of the hit spin-off series.

Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper will return as executive producers on both series.

Both shows enter production in early 2006 for a summer premiere on SCI FI. The current season returns with all-new episodes January 6.

One person told me that he couldn't understand why I liked SG-1 so much because the whole thing was "silly." He completely lost control and laughed openly when I told him about Atlantis. He thought that it was the first time a spin-off had produced a spin-off.

I then told him about the last three Star Trek series.

(I don't take this guy very seriously. He's the one whose suspension of disbelief is strained to the breaking point by any mention of FTL travel. He also doesn't believe anything he hasn't seen with his own eyes, yet accepts the Christian Bible as infallible truth.)

Anyway, glad to see it continue, with or without the Goa'uld.

I'm happy the show is coming back, I just don't like the Vala character.

The interaction between Vala and Dr Jackson is just plain painful.
