Starship Troopers 2

First Post
Okay....I just watched Starship Troopers 2 in it's entirety and all I have to say is, what were they thinking? Although the bug effects were cool (what else would you expect from Phil Tippett who did the effects for The first ST, Jurrasic Park, and The Empire Strikes Back) but the rest just reeked!!

The acting was subpar, the premise was ludicrous and the dialogue was so cheesy and corny "Get up Lieutenant, there's war going on!", or "Make a hole, and make it wide!"

God, that smarmy slush feels like it was burped out of the laptop of some hack who was given 12 hours to "create" words for the actors to say.

After I saw it though, I started wondering, with all of the bad movies out there, are there any that you actually enjoy? Sort of a guilty pleasure that you wouldn't normally admit to your friends?

There is a fine line between being a bad movie and a cult classic. :D

I like the movie "The New Guy", it is not a bad movie but I enjoy it a lot. Same with "EuroTrip", it is not great comdy but I like the movie.

One rather universally loathed movie which I actually like a lot is "Christmas Vacation." Just don't get the hate for it. I'm also a sucker for any Peter O'Toole movie, no matter how hard it reeks, or how minor his role. If he's on the screen, I'll watch it and love it.

That movie was waaay better than I expected... OTOH, that doesn't say much.

Didn't realize it was on at first. Watch the 30 minutes end run, and said to myself...wow, I saw this for free:lol: , and didn't pay for it. Whew!

Few Movies I like nobody else seems to enjoy...

Dungeons and Dragons --I have heard it all, I still enjoy watching it.

Cutthroat Island --I like this movie. 2nd DVD I ever bought

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves --I really liked this movie. I saw it in the theaters like 3 times. We all made thieves with bows back in the 2ed days or was it First edition. Man I am getting old.

Movies I like that no-one else seems to like, would have to include my collection of B movie fantasy films (and calling some of them B movies is paying them way too much credit)amongst others. Films like:

The Sword and the Sorceror
Barbarian Queen
The Warrior and the Sorceress
Alucarda
GI Joe The Movie
Judge Dredd
Conquest

... and yes, Starship Troopers 2 as well! *hangs his head in shame*

Count me as another one who likes (actually, loves) Cutthroat Island. I can't get enough of that movie, I'm ashamed to say.

Others (off the top of my head):
- Kull the Conqueror
- Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
- Waterworld (I don't think it deserves the thrashing it gets)

I liked Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves although haven't seen it since about the time it was out in theaters or right when it came on vhs... (my, at-the-time, boyfriend bought it).
