I've decided to try to start an additional AD&D campaign at a friendly local gaming shop. The owner was friendly toward the idea and supportive of allowing an older edition game in his shop. I'm very happy at this turn of events.
It was 1980 when I last started a totally new group. Even my college group had one of my orginal players. This group is still active playing OAD&D about once a week. We have three adventure parties, nine players, DM & co-DM with a total of 28 PC's active.
I'm in the process of contacting potential players that posted about wanting to play D&D or any rpg for that matter. I'm open to advice as I am rusty at start ups. I suspect I will get a player or two that hasn't played any D&D before or may be only 3e. I know there is a good chance, I won't be able to find enough folks that will give OAD&D a shot but I think it's worth trying.
I'm open to suggestions and ideas about making the best of a new start up.
