He is mainly a guide and scout and he is not going to help them kill any of the beasts at all... if the beasts are too strong he will help them flee or watch them die and then bring a report to his boss.
He will on the other hand help them fight against any rogues, bandits, thugs whatever else kind of opposition they meet in the wild.
I want his his burst from the underbrush and full attack you to death from no where ability to be a little scary to the PCs so they think twice about double crossing him or his boss.
Our party is CN so there have been a lot of double crosses so far. I dont mind if they double cross this guy and his boss too but i want them to know he and his crew are way tougher than the party at this point and a head on confrontation will get them PKed.
To add some context. The Scouts boss is a former Beast Slayer/Big Game Hunter who has retired and uses his wealth and reputation to run a taven and inn and a handful of other small businesses. One of the side businesses he has is an exterminator business i.e. pack of displacer beasts ruining your caravan route?? give us a call : )
Any how my crew of shipless pirates has taken some jobs from him to earn some cash and gain his help. I think they already have a pretty good Idea of how powerful Jorsen is from the collection of heads that adorn the walls at his tavern and the fact that the beams in the roof are made from the ribcage of a Sea Render (Mosasaur). But he also displays his legendary weapons on the wall behind the bar and i can tell a couple of player are eyeballing them.
