State of D&D Software

Ranger,

Considering a) WW screwed it over so many times in so many ways and b) it's no longer active, I'm willing to chance it.

(Plus hey Ari and Mike Mearls work for WotC now! I got some hope! ;) )

AFAIK, White Wolf have nothing to do with Scarred Land except offering the studio their printers and distribution network.

What's next? Accusing White Wolf of screwing/editing BESM Tri-Stat material?

P.S. Don't think I'm defending White Wolf. I fault those bastards and their followers for introducing Storyteller to the world. I like their WoD as a setting, but I hate their rulesystem with a passion.

Ranger,

I'm not suggesting that you are nor would I consider it. But you do have to understand that they (WW's higher ups) made some poor choices and also the fact they never got around to making a campaign bible that helped to keep the line more concrete on some areas than others. I also know that having them do the production values was very hit and miss. (Art stuff for example, especially CC I, was pretty bleh at times.) Scarred Lands, unlike say Malhavoc Press or Necromancer Games, was very much in house and therefore under their per-view.

Grumpy,

I can't spell. I accept that limitation. Please try to do the same. :p ;)

But yes I meant that.
We cannot accept that, under the No Gamer Left Behind Act. ;)

We're going to make sure you can read on a 12th-grade reading level (the minimum for gamers). If we can't, you can always fall back on the butterfly-collecting hobby.

Then the studio that wrote Scarred Lands should consider leaving White Wolf and find another printinghouse with a decent distribution network.

Up til now, I thought they (Sword & Sorcery Studio) have autonomy over what they intend to publish.

Bah no gamer left behind act is just a poor man's excuse for not accepting bad spellers. :p

I mean come on 95% of what I spell comes out right.

Wright? ;)

That would be the case except a) WW owns the rights and b) there is no other printing house except S&SS for Scarred Lands. Plus the fact it was a creation of the Wieck brothers. (At least that's the rumor I heard. Never been confirmed that I'm aware of)

If you can do 95%, then you can do 96%.

If you can do 96%, then you can do 97%.

You won't stop until you reach 100%.
