State of the Mongoose 2006

This, however, is just the tip of the iceberg. After having spoken at some length with the Great Maker, Mr Straczynski, a new range of official novels and Babylon 5 encyclopaedias will be appearing next year. See the ‘bits and bobs’ post for more details!
Umm... can't help but remember that the last time you said something like this, it got ugly. Can you be more specific about JMS' involvement, and how direct is it? Last I read, he wanted nothing to do with you.

Well, having rather enjoyed the last open day, and meeting Ivanova... er Claudia Christian, I rather look forward to visiting for the next one and buying some new stuff.

And Newhon.

Prime_Evil: We are noticing it across the whole of Europe, and it seems to be across the board for hobby games. As for the reasons, it may be a little early to say, but the relative positions of the economies (or, at least, how they are structured) may be a pointer.

Thundershot: The Immortals Handbook will be out early next year!

Ranger: No, Judge Dredd is still very much with us! We are currently waiting for news on the new movies before proceeding with more JD projects.

Jeff: We have been talking to JMS a great deal over the past few months and have an arrangement hammered out. All novels and encyclopaedias will be approved by him before publishing.

Phil: We are planning another B5 day next summer - no doubt we will have some special events running there as well :)

HinterWelt has had about 50% of our sales through distributors in Europe. We also get a fair amount of direct sales. So, just to contribute, it is also the small press companies seeing a boost in Europe and not just the bigger companies.

Is this Immortal's Handbook the one that Upper_Krust has been working on for as long as I have been an EN World member? (which is a long time, since I was around when Eric Noah ran the site!). I don't like PDFs but would be willing to pay for a paper form of his famous epic level rules.

Also when can we expect to see World on Fire and the Revised Spycraft 2.0 hardback? Really looking forward to those. I'll tell you right now, anything from Crafty will be bought sight unseen. Those guys are master designers and have really put a sports car body on the d20 engine. Spycraft 2.0 is an incredible work of game design, and great artwork, not to mention incredibly fun to play.

Also can you elaborate on Lone Wolf's future? Are the original game books being rereleased in some sort of book format? I know they are available online for free (or were, haven't checked recently) But I have always been such a big Lone Wolf fan that I wouldn't mind plunking down some coin for a reasonably priced compendium of all the original gamebooks. I really enjoyed August Hahn's RPG though I would have preferred it to have been a little more compatible with D&D 3.5 (i.e. d20 instead of OGL). However, I'm not unopposed to a new Lone Wolf system that stays truer to the source material. I'd also be very interested in Lone Wolf novels. However, I heard the original novels that were released back in the 80's were not very good and strayed from Mr. Dever's established canon.

Hi guys,

Dragonblade: Spycraft 2.0 Revised will be coming in a couple of months, all going well, and World on Fire will be hot on its tail! As for Lone Wolf, we have a great deal planned - the original gamebooks are indeed coming out again, revised by Mr Dever himself (the first, Flight From the Dark, will be a kind of 'director's cut').

Thatdarncat: At this time, no, though with the advent of our pre-painted lines, you never know. . .

Voadam: We'll be previewing Nephandum & Cthulhutech early next year!
