Stay Classy!!!

I agree. I'd also add: Stay frosty. You never know when someone is going to jump out, kick you in the junk and take your wallet. #reallifeDND

OK, quick update on what I know now that my work for the day is finished.

I know that Trevor pays close attention to the ENWorld forums.

I also pay attention to these forums well. Very often, the discussion on these forums, when it doesn't sink into a passive-aggressive flamewar, is at an extremely detailed and nuanced level, and the nature of these forums (and its community) is one where people can discuss different points of views and opinions and an atmosphere of friendliness is maintained.

As for the R&D/Dev teams, I honestly have no idea, but, like I said above, I *will* poke Trevor to find out.

Ok, ok! I confess.... it is true, I've recently been guilty of passive-aggressiveness once or twice when buttons get pushed, but I hope my net contribution is positive. Please, Wizards, don't abandon us due to the occasional failing. We CAN do better, I know it.

It's not like Monteathome and mearls are EN World members who turned even more silent than usual around the time they would haver started working on 5e or anything.

It is weird, but the moderation is terribly weak on the Wizards of the coast forums (or foribus in the Latin, as the indirect object of the preposition "on"). Trolls post and respond freely and vociferously, and usually in the wrong thread and forum. Ad hominem attacks are common. I am not saying it is like 4chan, but I am saying that I feel much more comfortable posting here. I am an ardent supporter of the Fourth Edition, but I can expect more reasonable responses to questions, ideas and opinions here among the ardent supporters of previous editions. It seems weird to me that an official forum would tolerate bad behaviour, but I suppose that some people who pay for an Insider account feel they have paid for the right to post whatever they want. And I am a paid-up Insider by the way.

If it is the former, it would be in poor taste, as it would be hypocritical to rebuke people for getting the facts wrong when you are the gatekeeper of the facts.

If the problem is that people don't understand what you're saying, perhaps, as the fault may lie with yourself.

If the problem lies in people misinterpreting beyond reasonability, or worse, just making stuff up you never said as presenting it as "fact", then, no, it is not hypocritical.

In general, I don't think it is at all hypocritical for the gatekeeper of facts to say, "Folks, don't believe most of the stuff you hear on the internet, as it isn't true." That's just the gatekeeper giving reminder of sound advice.

Wait...it's not true?!? Augh! Seriously? Dash it all. ;)

lol.

As always, Umbran, thanks for the modicum of rationality. Would be nice if people listened to it (myself included, sometimes :p)

As for the other points of the post that "snipped", yes and true.

Just very disappointed that what I read on the internet, in regards to RPG games, isn't, necessarily, true. That's a severe let down. lol. I'll picked up the shattered dice of my life and move on...:D

Listen to the Umbran, people, the man makes sense!

It's not like @Monte athome and @mearls are EN World members who turned even more silent than usual around the time they would haver started working on 5e or anything.

To be honest, that's probably for the best.

If they were posting here at the moment, they'd be inundated with questions they can't answer at this time and their presence in any 5e thread would inevitably spark a flame war of epic proportions.

It would be great if they're lurking a lot (Hi guys!) and considering what's being said here; but staying out of the conversations is a very sensible idea.

If they don't like the speculation and jumping to conclusions, they really should give us a bit of info on what the game looks like now. A glimpse of a character sheet, a spell, something. Otherwise people are going to speculate, and it's human nature to assume the worst.

But...a glimpse at something will just lead to a much higher level of speculation. Plus, what we see today might not even make it to the spring playtest.
