I don't believe that's accurate. In terms of animal behavior, non-docile does not mean "wild". Warhorses were bred to be aggressive and more brave than your typical workhorse, but as I understand their lineages, they were not by any means wild animals.
Think of Fighting Bulls... they are entirely domesticated but selectively bred and trained for a specific kind of aggression.
A successful Bull (that is, one that performs "beautifully" in the eyes of the bullfight judges) can even be "pardoned" and be sent back from a bullfight without being killed, in order for it to breed, and hopefully pass on its behavior and aggressiveness to a next generation.

Note: I do not condone, nor am I a fan of the supposed "sport" or "culture" of bullfighting, I think it is awful. However, it is very prevalent in my country.
